I faced “El Chupacabra” and lived to tell the tale

El Chupacabras

Well, hey there folks, it’s Caesar again, let me tell you about the time Gary and I went to Cancun. Gary and I decided to go on a wild spring break trip down to Cancun, Mexico. It was going to be the time of our lives, and nothing was going to stop us!

I remember that we were hanging out on the beach, soaking up the sun, and drinking some of the best “soda” we’d ever had. But, being the adventurous type, we decided to take a little detour to a small rural town (I think it was called San Miguelito), to experience the real Mexico.

Now, let me tell you, this town was something else. The people were friendly, the food was amazing, and we were having a blast. We were taking in all the sights and sounds of this amazing little town, and we were loving every minute of it.

But, as night began to fall, things started to get a little weird. The locals began to tell us about this creature that roamed the town at night, a creature they called “El Chupacabras.” Apparently, it had a taste for goats and, even worse, people.

Gary and I just laughed it off, thinking it was just some kind of local urban legend. But, boy, were we in for a surprise.

As we were walking back to our hotel that night, we heard some strange noises, and suddenly, the creature appeared out of nowhere, chasing us down the street! We were running for our lives, not knowing what to do, and I could feel my heart pounding in my chest.

But then, a kid we had befriended earlier in the day show up with his machete (he had the machete with him when we met him early that day), and he led us into a small building, telling us it was a safe place to hide. As we barricaded ourselves inside, we could hear the creature trying to break in, its long claws scratching at the door.

We were terrified, but the kid asked us to follow him through a passage in the back of the building (that kid was ice cold in the face of danger). So, we followed him through the dark, winding passage, not knowing where it would lead us.

Finally, we emerged outside, and the creature was right behind us, ready to pounce. But, as it charged towards us, the kid grabbed his machete and swung it towards the creature giving it a little shave, and it recoiled in pain screaming like a barrel full of monkeys, letting us escape.

As we caught our breath, my heart was still pounding in my chest, and I couldn’t believe we’d made it out alive. I turned to the kid, who looked like a cold-blooded chad like nothing had happened, and with tears in my eyes, I thanked him for his help.

“Thank you so much for saving our lives,” I said, giving him a hug.

The kid smiled and looked up at me, “No problem, man, I’m just glad you guys are okay.”

We talked for a few more minutes, and he told us about his life in the town, and how he had grown up hearing stories of El Chupacabras but had never actually seen it before. We promised to keep in touch and exchanged contact information before parting ways.

As we walked back to our hotel, I couldn’t stop thinking about the bravery and quick thinking of that kid. I knew that if it wasn’t for him, we may have never made it out of that town alive. I felt a deep sense of gratitude towards him and knew that I would never forget his kindness.

When we got back to the hotel, Gary and I decided to just stay in for the rest of our stay.
